The Most Unique Experiences Of Learning Happen Outside The School Gates.

Any educator worth their salt will tell you that students learn in so many different ways and so just studying books all day may not be conducive to good learning. There is no doubt that classroom study is incredibly important and that the right kind of textbook can impart knowledge to any kid. There have been many studies on the subject and it is well known that organising school trips for students offers them an exciting and practical way to learn about life skills and to reinforce everything that they have been taught in the classroom.

This is why many schools are taking advantage of world expedition tours that gets the kids travelling around the local area and much further afield. There is a wealth of learning in your local community like in museums, theatres and other historical sites throughout the area and many children although they have lived there for many years have never been to any of these places. The reason for that is that they are stuck in school for most of the week and so when the weekend comes around, they just want to spend time with their friends and family.

If you’re still not sold on the benefits of organising student travel tours then maybe the following can help to change your mind.

  1. Subjects come to life – Reading about it in a book and explains it in real life are two completely separate things and as was previously mentioned before, different students learn in different ways and so some learning by reading and some learn by doing. Getting students outside is particularly helpful for certain subjects like the sciences where you can actually show insects and birds in their natural habitat.
  2. Motivation to learn – It can be very difficult as parents and teachers to explain to children why it is so important that they need to learn about what goes on in life and what they are likely to experience in their adult years. If you bring students out of the classroom then they will feel a lot more enthusiastic about learning about the specific thing if it is right there in front of them and they can touch it.

You will also find that students are much better behaved while on school trips because their frustrations are being addressed and they are not being stuck inside all day looking out at the sun but not being unable to enjoy it.
